International Poetry Festival

International Poetry Festival started over four decades ago , has evolved steadily from festival county , inter-county , national and international in 1980 from 1992. Festival jury presidents between 1973 to 2014 were: George Chivu , Lawrence Ulici ( 22 years ), Radu Saplacan , Cassian Maria Spiridon Ion Muresan, Adrian Popescu and Gheorghe Grigurcu 2007 . Since 1979 , it organizes Deseşti ” Poetry Evenings ” Nichita Stanescu ” in 2000 and the Grand Prize is awarded ” Nichita Stanescu ” Evenings of Poetry Deseşti .

Poetry Festival in Sighet was attended by major poets of Romania , Moldova, Ukraine , Hungary , Serbia , Bulgaria , Czech Republic, Slovakia , USA, Switzerland , Iraq , Israel.
